..an offal entry ....February 21, 2008
My cardiologist called me on Valentine's Day. An extensive battery of tests revealed that my blood is a pinkish roux and my heart has completely calcified. Since I cannot tolerate statins, the doctor prescribed Niaspan. Niaspan is a time-released form of niacin. Unfortunately, the pharmacist misread the prescription and sold me something called Niaspam. I took Niaspam for a week before I discovered the error. As it turns out, Niaspam is a time-released form of Spam prescribed to those whose diets include insufficient quantities of canned offal.I know that many people would have filed suit against the pharmacist, but I just don't have the heart.
