..1200 threads-count to the wind....February 13, 2004
The newspaper read: WHITE SALE. I assumed the ad was tied to the slave reparation movement. But on closer reading, I learned a local department store was having a sale on bed clothes. After a bit of research, I decided to make a purchase. You may not know this, but there are different kinds of sheets. For example, one can purchase flannel sheets, silk sheets, or cotton sheets. Sheets are also sold according to "thread count." The higher the thread count, the smoother, more comfortable, and more expensive the sheet. I confess to some dithering but, after several hours, I made my choice. Judging by the sales lady's reaction, it must have been a wise one. She was weeping and hugging herself while she urged me to leave; I suppose she was anxious for me to try them at home.
The sheets and pillow cases are 400 thread count, 100% cotton sheets. The maiden voyage was last night. As I slid my naked, perfectly muscled torso between the taupe-colored sateen sheets, I experienced a bliss that can only be described as intoxicating. True, my new sheets do not exfoliate me like the 120 Grit Percale sheets I purchased at Home Depot. But, god, they are comfortable.
