"Consider the pharaoh who devotes energy to the building of pyramids and monuments because he believes they will forever stand in testament to his existence and achievements.  Now consider the child who toils on the beach all day building an elaborate sand castle for no reason other than the joy of his labor.  He knows the tide will rise and the castle will vanish by morning, yet he enjoys the meditative quality of creating something for its own sake.  Who is the wiser:  The pharaoh or the child?"

"I gotta go wit da pharaoh on dis one.  First, da pharaoh uses slaves.  Lots of 'em.  He don't do shit sep mebbe da Funky Tut when da sun goes down.  Da kid, on da udda han, busts his ass and gets a sunburn and sand in his crack.  And while, sure, nuttin lasts forevuh, dem pyramids lasts a long goddam time."

And so it is.  Philosophy is often lost on a Street Lizard.
