September 20, 2002 a pumpkin must be killed Oh, the costumes they wear!  Dorothy in Oz.  Martha Stewart.  Generic Hippie Chick.  Mary Magdalene.  Sylvia Plath.  There is fraud afoot. And upon the ledge I sit,  uncut, unlit.  I curse the eyes that I might see.  I dread the wicked grin.  To make a jack-o-lantern, a pumpkin must be killed.
