September 5, 2002 god complex
I have almost completed a critique of God's work in creating the human body. This is a dangerous undertaking given His notorious defensiveness. I'll probably awaken with a plague of locusts at my anal sphincter. Anyway, I focus on three areas in particular: The female reproductive system; the prostate gland; and the spine.
Let's face it, the female reproductive system is a sick joke--menses, plumbing complications, hormones, menopause. Hell, I'm not that thrilled with the location of the clitoris. Would it have killed Him to install a flashing light?
And why must the prostate gland encircle the neck of the bladder and urethra? Off the top of my head, I'm thinking He should have put it on the tops of our heads. No urinary interference and easy access to massage therapy. This is a no-brainer.
Either the annulus around the nucleus pulposus should be made of carbon steel or the nerve roots exiting the spinal cord should be insulated. Besides eliminating nerve root pressure, these changes would accelerate Natural Selection against unscrupulous surgeons who build fortunes on the backs of their patients. Literally.
Don't get me wrong; He did a lot of fine work. I'm particularly impressed with the liver. What an organ! But the design needs some tweaking.
