February 14, 2002 the line I take antidepressant medication, a fact I find depressing.  I talked to a doctor today about drugs which boost the efficacy of antidepressants.  This drug-combination therapy is the crap-shoot of last resort for "treatment resistant" patients.  The doctor suggested I add to my current medication a drug previously prescribed only for psychosis.  He recited the usual list of potential side-effects, all of which sounded like a stroll in the park to me.  All except for one.  It seems the particular antipsychotic drug in question increases prolactin levels in both men and women.  In other words, the medication could cause me to lactate. Hear me, and hear me well.  I draw the line at wearing a nursing bra.
